I have never buy or wear a suit before. Now I want to buy a suit suitable for many occasions and my budget is AUD $100-500. I heard people likely get their suit tailored, but I do not think I will wear my suit very often, is that necessary? Other than that, what should I take notice when buying a suits?

First off, let me welcome you to wonderful world of suits. I understand this department is somewhat daunting and scary at first, but not to fear, I'll walk you through.
In reference to your tailoring question... Don't get a tailored suit; the average Joe can't tell the difference between a ready made suit and a tailored suit, in fact I'm a banker and the only reason why bankers get tailored suits is so that they can walk around the bank and say "have you noticed my tailored suit?"
It's very clear that what you actually need as a plain black suit, in other words, no stripes! Think about it, you can wear it for a business occassion, a wedding, a funeral, and various other events.
Finally, just in case you're worried about the different styles; there's really only two styles for men's suits, single breasted and double breasted and there's no etiquette on which one to pick; just try out both styles and see which one you think you look better in and buy that style.
Other than that, just enjoy your new suit... you'll find that you'll be looking for excuses to wear your suit if you pick a suit which you REALLY like.

Unless they are made to measure, they normally come in Small, Medium, Large and Extra-Large and you have to check with the company's size chart which of those options matches your height.
