I'm shy so how do I talk to girls?

I am an 18 year old boy who has not had a girlfriend and only one of my friends is a girl. I've always been shy around girls and have never been able to show off the real me. I recently got rejected by a girl who I asked out too. When I am friendly with people I can be quite talkative, funny and a lot of fun to be around I believe.

I've never had any problems in getting people to like me but I have never been able to talk to girls well enough to become friends with them.

I am a smart, decent looking guy but I am just shy around girls. So does anyone have any tips for me on how to talk to girls please? I know that I am an interesting person really, I am just not good at showing it until I'm comfortable with people

how can i be up front without sounding creepy or desperate? the girl i have in mind knows who i am (in general most girls think im hot/cute), but we have never talked nor shared a class together. My friend is sorta friends with her (they sit by one another in class), and thats how she found out i think shes cute.

now i dont like this girl but would it still be appropriate to ask a girl out even though i dont like her hoping that the feelings would grow?

post#3- i dont have any classes or anything with her. only a friend who is semi-friends with her who is HORRIBLE at hookups

Respectfully, if you don't like her, it seems as you're into it for the sport. Don't do that. Someone will get hurt!!
