what happened to the Swimsuit contest, pillow fights, mud bath, burried in the ground matches?

Rogeotreel
PG?? I dont know.
I remember like 2 years ago during the diva search they would have them come out in short clothing. I remember on PPVs the women would have mud baths(i think thats what its called), even malina's "split" when she gets in the ring the camera changes angle. What happened to the real burried alive? like the one taker and austin had when you have to dig in the ground and throw your opponent down there.
you can still do all this with PG and I dont think wwe's PPV are always PG(ECW one night stand)
Answer
What happened to the "pillow fights"? TNA. They showed, with The Knockouts, that women can wrestle, and that the fans enjoy watching women who can wrestle actually wrestling. Because The Knockouts were a hit, the Divas were being laughed at by pretty much everybody. So the WWE got rid of the demeaning "bra and panties" types of matches and the bikini contests, had the Divas dress more appropriately for the ring, and are teaching them to wrestle. Most fans are appreciative.
PPVs are basically "unrated"; they can do pretty much whatever they want. But they still have to consider their audience. The WWE is not going to deviate their PPVs too much from what they present on TV; they don't want to offend or turn off their fans. PPVs are where they make the most money (after merchandise sales).
I don't have an answer for the "Buried Alive" question. Perhaps that gimmick match was just for the "Attitude Era" and Vince just doesn't want to do them anymore.
